Every discussion about cars in India begins with “.. yeah deti kitna hai”
Richs.. when are rich, dont bother about it. Rest everyone else starts with “kitna deti hai”. They dont hesitate to ask this for SUVs even.
Truth is, it’s a country with big population. Big means 1.30 Cr (and increasing) and with massive unevenly distributed resources.
India is doing good because of rich roots from “sarfaroshi ki tamman ab humare dil me hai..”.
It is now 73 years which is not that long and we still feel the value of free air.
Second, Indian democracy is really a very good recipe for a healthy countries nutritive delight.
Third the tolerance, the religions, our family preaching and teachings and the way how all different(s) are together making the strong molecular bond of India.
But with time, forgetting the worth of what we earned and gaps got space in between these strong bonds. And on many points, situation rotten much worse.
Resources are going low and need of needies are going high.
How bad solutions are is unknown, but we can see what the solution incharges are doing.
They are patching. They are breaking country marathon in numerous 100 mt races and patching the problems of that track only.
That is what happening basically to everything and in this topic to Indian Electric Automotive future.
Though in India, four wheelers are consider to be more as status symbol and ‘tashan’ over utility. Still not a single one regrets asking “Kitna deti hai.. ” while buying (if it is). It is considered as standard procedural queries with colors and power windows.
Dont see airbag’s use daily.. so are not that important. And yes, the music system… check whether AUX is there or not (as in old times a check for pen-drive slot) 😊
Things are changing from old to new generation but on relatively a very slow pace. Young goes for more HP and torque and necessarily check for ABS and EBD. Airbags are lower in list compared to hill decent control but yes it is been looked for.
All in all, evaluation criteria of ‘value for money’ is unique of Indians.
And God knows how they will tally EVs.
May be
‘sala 15 – 20 lac dene ke baad bhi keval 4 motor aur ek battery mili.. bechnge to kuch wapis nahi milega..’
‘battery ki kya value.. aur motor ko kya ghar ke pankhe me lagaunga..’
However so called solution incharge, the Government is all set to put EV in main stream on India’s tarmac.
I see its reality in their imaginations.
Statement is so stud because I can see all those rotten gaps in India’s political molecular structure.
So big that the primary element ‘my nation, my people’ looks puny in front of corruption and self-centric greedy mentality of politics and system.
“Lets give EV (cars) as a good topic to discuss and by the time they realize all painful pins in the cushion, my tenure will be over.
I will earn good bribe in new implementations.
And might got my name engraved in pioneers.
And its simple, I have to copy what is trending in developed nations.”
They saw success of name Tesla. After couple of meetings and some superficial analysis, they jump on introducing EV in India.
Make big business promise to business houses and promises big opportunities to stupid consumers with a pinch of ‘eradication of problems’ commitment.
And ‘walhaaa habibi..’ we got Tata Nixon EV in place where even basic earthing is missing in electric infrastructure.
But it has to start at some point by someone at some place. And the ruling party needs vote makes perfect weather for artificial rain.
So they put a bathroom shower, a little high and say
“enjoy rain”
It has never been seen that in core Tesla actually re:developed a lost concept and then later it established itself as a car company.
And here we jumped on it, imagining EVs a big hit and a electrifying cars future in India.
Mr. Ram, a thinker analyzed pattern of infrastructure development in India, says about government’s way of planning.
Streamlining traffic without red lights on crossing is a point to cover in all smart city projects.
It should be handled by creating elevated roads and flyovers which smartly diverts traffic and avoid congestion on roads.
So they analyze traffic’s density at places, create possible diversion plans and tally its cost with allowed budget.
But political greed and corruption eat the plans. This analysis is supposed to consider today’s traffic stats and an estimation of vehicles on road that is about to come in consecutive 5 to 7 years and the population growth in the area because empty space wont always stays there for infrastructure and urban construction and in parallel the increase of traffic.
Majorly what has been seen in general in city development projects is, they got planned in such a way that by the time they complete (in months or even years) immediately it relaxes the problem for which it has been developed.
Situation runs smooth for time. But won’t last that long which was as per the estimate. And then system starts planning for another urban development in the row because the previous fails to effect for effective period of time.
And the process starts rolling again and they plan for another urban construction to solve the traffic problem.
This keeps on happening because its government’s money, means an orphan which everyone wants to get for free and slave it.
Everyone means, the planners influenced by political effect and political permitters themselves.
But the point for which we brought this aspect up in the future of electric vehicles is planning. Developing electric cars is in private sector’s hands. But its rules, regulations and infrastructure is a government’s thing.
So the private sector is manufacturing, Government is paper planning. And end consumer, the buyer is all in doubt by seeing glimmer and flashes by private with one eye and potholes road by planners with another.
Drivers used to keep cans in the vehicles not so long ago because petrol pumps were not in that abundance as they are now. And now they have to equip with some sort of super quick charging facility.
And the amount of copper, lead and some other material are used in EVs (Electric cars), in very high amount as compared to traditional ICEs. Government has to fulfill that as well for manufacturing.
On the pinnacle there are rebuttals who are supposed to be pioneers.
Tesla, a totally new name, created a entire automobile company with both non-commercial and commercial Electric Cars.. not having as single ICE model in the product list yet brands as Mercedes, BMW, Audi are not even have 10% of their product line as proper EVs (Electric Cars).
Seems like they are testing the market and bringing a couple of products only to get attention as contributors in the movement.
And them comes Suzuki and Toyota. Wondered why there is not Electric Car waves in Maruti India because the granddaddy Suzuki, don’t have any plans for EV as others.
Toyota tested Prius long ago and is signing a entirely different song now.. the ‘Hydrogen fuel cell’ song. They are seeing huge problem in batteries consistent power output in long run and a total failure in refilling of power in EVs specifically cars… as quick as some liquid or gas in the tank.
And second, they really think that Hydrogen Fuel Cell technology is about to get techy very quick and will cross every competitor in the race very soon. Plus no emissions and no disgust as of battery manufacturing.
Everyone is working.. I would rather say moving head as per their own understanding and their own interests.
Mr. Nitin Gadkari, ‘Minister of Road Transport and Highways as in 2021 of India.. seems like has all written in a small notebook that is to execute one after another; no matter how rough the roads of implementation are.
Can have ides with the latest vehicle scrappage policy which strictly cuts 15 year old commercial vehicles from road. I am sure then scissor will run on personal vehicles.
This comes after smartly and forcefully deployed Fast Tag and BS 6 pollution norms.
These are really very good schemes and totally align and agree with them. Concern is same as mentioned above… implementations calculating. Again India is 1.30 Cr. and implementing something is not.. umm I am not getting proper word but I know you will surely understand.
